Has anyone done this?

What is the proper procedure? Import/Export? Detach/Attach? Backup/Restore? Or what?

Thanks for your help!!

In summary: backup (I'd then take the current database offline so that User's don't accidentally connect to it), restore, change QuoteWerks database connection settings in the Medic Utility.

There are occasionally one or two gotchas on the way (like enabling TCP/IP in SQL, allow SQL connectivity through Windows Firewall). If you email steve@hilltopsit.co.uk then we've got a short step-by-step that covers most things.

Also please note that I am not 100% sure SQL 2016 is formally supported yet. I think that QW.com have (or are) testing it, but I haven't noticed it in the release notes yet.

Hope this helps,

Scrap that: just noticed it. SQL 2016 support introduced in v5.1 build 6.07.
