I'm rebuilding a salesman's laptop. In the office we are on QW Ver5 (Build 4.11). On the QW website the only available install file is Ver5 Build 4.44. Would there be any problems for a remote user to be on a slightly newer build of version 5?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Alan

4.33 is on the website: http://www.quotewerks.com/download/archives/qw51b4_33.exe

You're, usually, OK when working on a few 'dot' build releases.
Suggest you give it a go, if it doesn't like it, you can always upgrade the master (although, that's a slightly bigger job, of course)

We're on 5.0 so Build 4.44 is what I have to use. Is .33 just a "few dot" build releases? I do not want to update the master ;^/.

Ah, sorry, confusing my 5.0 and my 5.1 releases....!!
5.0 4.44 is as close as you're going to get, I'd be confident it'd work.

Thanks for the input... Me and another guy take care of these kinds of things and he might have the V5B4.11 install file on his laptop. Unfortunately he's out of the office.

Hi Alan,

We have been keeping copies of QuoteWerks Versions and Build for several years now and by doing a quick check, we do have the version that you need. Could you possibly post an email address I could send this to or possibly get in contact with us? Once I am able to get an email address i'd be more than happy to send this to you via email. We do recommend our clients to always keep a copy on their network for easy transfer and use for future users. We all love convenience!

Best Regards,

Brandon,
Thanks you so much for the link. I was having visions of everything going sideways when I tried to restore the backup from V5B411 to V5B444.

Speaking of restoring a backup. Before the rebuild I copied the entire QW directory. Once QW v5b411 is installed can I just copy the backed up directory over the new directory?

If you are using a Microsoft Access backend then this would be the case yes. If you are using SQL Server, you will need to restore the backup of the SQL server using SQL Management Studio and then Re-host QuoteWerks to point to the SQL database.

We ARE using the Access version. Lucky for me, since I was impatient, I copied the directory over before hearing from anyone. All was good!!

Thanks all for everything!
